Review and verification standards

What qualifies

Reviews must describe a first-hand experience selecting, purchasing, installing, testing, maintaining, servicing, or relying on the named wildfire-defense system. Ratings should reflect that experience rather than assumptions about a product or company.

Verification

Before publication, we inspect relevant private evidence. Examples include an estimate, proposal, invoice, model label, installation photo, service record, or another document that reasonably connects the reviewer to the system. Verification confirms a relevant experience; it does not independently prove every claim in the review.

Fair moderation

• Positive and negative reviews are judged by the same standards.
• Manufacturers cannot pay to approve, rank, edit, suppress, or remove a review.
• We may edit obvious formatting problems or remove personal information, but we will not change the meaning or rating without the reviewer’s permission.
• A verification label is not an endorsement or a guarantee that a system will perform in a wildfire.

Reasons we may reject or remove content

• Insufficient or altered evidence; impersonation; duplicate or incentivized submissions.
• Second-hand claims, speculation presented as fact, or content unrelated to the reviewed system.
• Threats, harassment, hate, obscenity, confidential information, or unnecessary personal information.
• Photos or video containing faces, license plates, street numbers, exact addresses, documents, unsafe conduct, or material the reviewer does not have the right to share.
• Undisclosed employment, ownership, sales, family, or financial relationships.
• Claims that create a material legal or safety concern and cannot be reasonably supported.

Corrections and appeals

Reviewers and affected businesses may send a specific correction or appeal to reviews@wildfiresystemreview.com. Include the review, the disputed statement, and supporting information. We may temporarily unpublish a review while evaluating a credible concern.
